VENUE
The Body Knowledge Conference will be held at the School of Public Health on the Parktown Campus of Wits University. For a map and directions to the School, click

A bus will be provided to take those delegates without their own cars to the conference dinner at the Adler Museum on Monday evening. All other venues are within easy walking distance of the School of Public Health.
ACCOMMODATION
We suggest two options which are very near to the School of Public Health on Wits’s Parktown Campus. The more expensive of these is the
Sunnyside Hotel which, with the benefit of the Wits rate, goes for ZAR 825 per single room per night and includes breakfast. Please book this option directly with the Hotel and ask specifically for the Wits University rate as a conference delegate. You can email Mary Moloana:
sunnyside1@legacyhotels.co.za
For budget accommodation, there are a limited number of rooms at the
Wits Junction. These rooms go for between approximately ZAR 270 and ZAR 350 per night per person staying for a minimum of 2 nights and a maximum of 7 nights. These are self-contained, self-catering university apartments and the price range indicates different servicing options. Please contact
Najibha.Deshmukh@wits.ac.za to confirm that you would like one of these rooms. We have to make a collective booking in relation to these units, and we will advise about payment once we have a total booking.
There is also a good deal of accommodation in and around Parktown.

GETTING AROUND JOHANNESBURG
Cars remain the easiest means of getting around Johannesburg. The Gautrain provides an efficient service mainly between Johannesburg and OR Tambo International Airport, and between Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Public transport in Johannesburg is complicated and difficult for a new comer to figure out. If you want to use it please ask a local for advice. A mini-bus taxi (which transports up to 15 people at a time), is the least expensive option.
You could also use the newly introduced e-TukTuk. These are motorbikes with a built in seating compartment for a maximum of three people. Trip per person depending on distance is R15 and up. Contact 082 695 0211 or 082 515 6593.
Otherwise we recommend you use a metered taxi service. Rose Taxis is reliable, inexpensive, and, because the fare is based on kilometres, rather than the number of persons, you can split the cost between yourselves. A one-way trip to Wits should be in the region of R80. Contact 011 403 9625.
Safe Cab is also reliable, but pricey. Contact 0861 665566.
