Timothy Wright is an Assistant Professor of English Literature at Bilkent University, Ankara, and a Research Associate at WISER. He studies contemporary literature, culture, and film. Broadly, he is interested in how people imagine life amidst ruin, be it infrastructural or ideological. He has published extensively on imaginings of mutant and other non-normative forms of life in post-apartheid Johannesburg. Currently, he is completing a book manuscript on disconsolation in the global novel, and has plans for a future comparative project on Turkish and South African modernisms.
