An African Volk: The Apartheid Regime and its Search for Survival

Presented by Jamie Miller

Monday, 3 October, 2016 - 15:00

A paper centred on my forthcoming book with Oxford University Press (Sept 2016). The book talks about how the apartheid regime sought viability in the post-colonial world. It shows how it used statecraft to redefine the ideology and identity of the white polity, simultaneously hijacking the new norms of post-colonialism and bending them to its own purposes.

  • Seminars will be held in the WISER seminar room from 3:00 to 4:30pm.
  • Participants must read the paper prior to the seminar.
  • The paper will typically only be available on the Friday preceding the seminar.
