Interrogating Political Economy seminar on Seekings and Nattrass -- Policy, Politics and Poverty in South Africa (Palgrave, 2015)
Friday, 23 October 2015 - 1:30pm
The next reading group meeting of the WISER Interrogating Political Economy series will take place on Thursday 22 October 2015, from 2 to 3.30 PM, in the WISER seminar room. We will be discussing the new book by Jeremy Seekings and Nicoli Nattrass: Policy, Politics and Poverty in South Africa (Palgrave, 2015). Please contact Faeeza Ballim (faeeza.ballim@gmail.com) if you would like to attend, and she will provide the details for the required reading.
As part of WISER's African Futures theme, Interrogating Political Economy is an informal reading group that meets once a month to read and critically engage with well-established and new arguments in comparative political economy. The goals of the seminar are to enrich the scholarly project of comparative political economy in South Africa, to open up the key problems of accumulation and inequality on this continent to more intensive inter-disciplinary enquiry, and to support more sophisticated understandings for the development of policy and political debate.
