Panel Discussion of Open Access Publishing

The editors of the Journal of African History, published by Cambridge University Press, will host a discussion of the workings and implications of the, apparently, forthcoming systems of Open Access Publishing. 

Richard Reid, from SOAS, and Keith Breckenridge, from WISER, will provide short presentations.   WISER would like to invite journal editors (past, present and future),  publishers and other interested parties to attend the discussion.   Given the current arrangements for subsidy earning, Open Access Publishing is likely to have very significant effects on South African scholarship, and on Wits (with its significant ISI representation) in particular.
