About the speakers:

Usman Bugaje
Dr Usman Bugaje authored over fifty publications dealing with good governance, poverty, education, environment and reproductive health. He is a former national secretary of the Nigeria’s opposition Action Congress, a member of President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Presidential Policy Committee, chair of Nigeria’s parliament’s house committee on foreign affairs, and presidential envoy to Sudan.

Hakeem Onapajo
Dr Hakeem Onapajo is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zululand. He completed his PhD in Political Science at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he also lectured political science and international relations. He has published extensively in conflict and terrorism, religious politics and violence, elections and democratisation and Africa’s international relations, and has consulted for the Nigerian government. He is also editor-in-chief of online magazine The Nigerian Academia.
