History of Sexuality Reading Group, 23 April, 3pm

The next meeting of the history of sexuality reading group will be on Thursday, 23 April at 3pm in the WiSER seminar room (6th floor, Richard Ward Building, East Campus). We'll be focussing on the work of Caroline Bynum, specifically:

Caroline Bynum, 'Fast, Feast, and Flesh: The Religious Significance of Food to Medieval Women,' Representations, no. 11 (Summer, 1985), pp. 1-25.

Caroline Bynum, 'Why All the Fuss about the Body? A Medievalist's Perspective,' Critical Inquiry, vol. 22, no. 1 (Autumn, 1995), pp. 1-33.

The reading group meets monthly to discuss trends, debates, and controversies within the field of the history of sexuality, aiming to read as widely as possible. Scholars from all disciplines and at all levels are very welcome. For more information and for the readings, contact Dr Sarah Emily Duff, sarah.duff@wits.ac.za.
