Object Agencies: Congolese artifacts as exhibition organisms

In the late 19th century, the terms of accumulation of certain Sub Saharan African objects that came to populate museum collections in Euro-America rendered them anonymous. This article attempts to probe the full potential of what the materiality of these objects can tell us, viewing them as integral entities within the display logistics that have coalesced around them.
