Christi Kruger wins the Monica Wilson Prize

The Monica Wilson Prize is awarded to the best student essay submitted by a postgraduate student as a paper at the annual Anthropology Southern Africa conference. The prize-winning essay is selected based on the work that best addresses the theme of the annual conference or excellently exemplifies the spirit of discovery in ethnographic work. The winner receives a monetary prize and publication in the ASnA Journal. This year's conference was themed, 'Ethnography and Worlds Otherwise,' and the Monica Wilson Prize was awarded to Christi Kruger for her paper, '(Dis)empowered Whiteness: Un-Whitely Spaces and the Production of the Good White Home'.

We are immensely proud of her.
